After years of wanting to go to Japan, I finally could achieve this dream. I went to Kudan Institute to learn japanese and still had time to explore Tokyo. I want to show you some of my favorite moments in this blog! :D
This was the first Monday since arriving. After getting to know my language school, I went to Shinjuku with my friends. We went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building to get a good view. It was really amazing but it looks even better at night time.
This photo is one I took in my language school. I really liked that the school was located next to Akihabara. It was also near convenience stores like 7-11 and Family Mart. My language course overall was amazing. I understood everything. Nothing was taught too slow or too fast. But there was also the option to change class if it seems too hard or too easy. Everyone was so helpful. I had a different teacher almost everyday but everyone was very helpful. My classmates were all amazing! I made so many new friends and learned so much.
This was the first Saturday. We did a tour around Tokyo. We first went to Tokyo tower. We then had lunch at a shopping mall. And finally we arrived at TeamLabplanets. It was one of my favourite activities!! The museum was so beautiful and I liked that it was interactive. I had so much fun. Throughout the first week we had other cool activities like trying on Yukatas/Kimonos. I took part in every activity and it was awesome. I also did some fun activites myself like going to an otter Cafe, going shopping in harajuku and so much more. I really like that we have so much free time to ourselves! 😆
I lived in Katsushika City with a host family. More specifically in Aoto. It took me maybe 45-55minutes everyday to get to school which was in Suidobashi station. But understanding the transportation system was actually very easy so I didn't mind. I really enjoyed staying in Aoto. There were lots of shops and a nearby Don quijote. My host family was also really nice. I stayed with a 27 year old couple with no children. And they were very nice and helpful. My host mom would cook dishes for me and we would communicate really well. She asked me stuff in japanese and if I didn't understand she would be patient with me and repeat it in english. There were no problems. I was really happy with my host family!
This was our trip to Nikko and it was my favourite activity overall. The hotel we stayed at was truly amazing. The view was gorgeous (we could se a beautiful waterfall) and the hotel had everything. It had an onsen, karaoke rooms, spas, claw machines,a piano, a store near the front desk for souvenirs and vending machines for a midnight snack. The rooms we stayed in were gorgeous. A very traditional japanese styled room. They offered us so many things. Everything was so clean. And the buffet was amazing. I really loved the food. They had everything I could've wished for. The next day we went out to explore nikko. Like very famous temples. Everything was so beautiful.
On Sunday after our trip to nikko. I went to Kamakura and swam in the sea. It took us an hour and maybe 15 minutes to get there but it was so worth it. The water was perfect especially with the weather.
This was one of my favourite spots near my language school. It was a beautiful garden. It was only a 15 minute walk from the school. There are actually many temples near my language that you can explore. So there was always something to do.
Our trip to Atami was also one of my favorites. On the day we arrived there was a firework show outside. We could perfectly see it from the hotel rooftop. And the view was even better from our rooms. We had so much fun. The way there wasn't that long either. Maybe 3 hours in total. We also went to a museum were the artwork was made to mess with your mind. It's called the Atami Trick Art museum. It has 3D paintings, lots of optical illusions and perspective bending artworks. The language school staff took lots of pictures for memories. After that we had free time to explore atami for ourselves and we got to see the beach!
This was a few days before I had to leave. I went to asakusa and found koi fish. There was one gold one which i found really cool. I got to take so many amazing photos.
This was my last day in japan. And being very honest it was really emotional. That day I had school and after class I received my certificate which I was so grateful for. I said goodbye to my classmates and teachers. In front of the school I met with all my friends and said goodbye to some of them. I am truly grateful for all of them. I am so happy I decided to do this trip. It was truly life changing. This last day I spent with my friends. We hung out in harajuku and when it got dark I decided to go to tokyo tower again but to see all the lights in the night time one last time. If I could go back in time I would probably choose to stay for 7 weeks instead of 4. I really wish I could'v explored more outside of tokyo. I am so happy to have met so many amazing people and made such amazing friendships. I would truly do a trip like this again❤️❤️
